Club Naomh Naille to Host Cardiac Screening Day
How healthy is you heart? Why not find out at Club Naomh Naille’s Cardiac Screening Day, to take place Saturday 6th of April, from 10.00am, in the Clubhouse Mountcharles, ahead of World Heath Day.
The Doctor led service, will be provided by Mobile Cardiac Screening Company Healthy Hearts Healthy Lives (HHHL). Set up in 2011 by former Armagh footballers John and Tony McEntee, Healthy Hearts Healthy Lives facilitates locally arranged cardiac screening clinics for those aged 14-35 at various centres in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
At a cost of €45 per person, each consultation involves the completion of a screening questionnaire and an electrocardiogram (ECG). All ECG’s will be assessed and interpreted by a Consultant Cardiologist. Further testing by way of Echocardiogram (ECHO) is available, if required.
Each person being screened will be provided with an Information Booklet, which informs them of the service offered as well as outlining the importance of effective screening. All staff used in the administering and interpreting of the screening programme are medically qualified and experienced practitioners.
Undetected heart conditions affect about 1 in 300 people, with an alarming estimated 40 otherwise healthy young people in Ireland dying each year from Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (Sads) or Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome.
Healthy Heart Healthy Lives tests are able to detect the majority of cardiac abnormalities most likely to affect young people.
